Tim Holtz 12.5" Precision Paper Trimmer

I have never had such a precise trimmer! The only complaint I have is the cutting track became damaged with normal use, if the cut was made from anywhere but the very top or bottom, and I needed a timer for "gutting" papers, so I didn't always start at the very top. Hoping the replacement is improved!

This is an excellent trimmer. I love how the measurements are on both ends and in the middle and the grid lines are every 1/4 inch so you can measure easily.
It cuts very straight. I’m very happy with this trimmer. anyone who orders this tremor will not not be disappointed.

I was so excited to find this cutter at a good sale price that I purchased two. I have been using the first one and noticed it doesn’t cut straight. It also, chops into the base of the cutter, no matter how you cut. I thought, okay new tool, user error. Granted these were purchased in August. Yesterday, I opened the new box. I carefully cut and the first cut it slices into the base, again! I wanted to love this product so much. It definitely has design flaws on all or some of them.

I was so excited to get this trimmer but it’s very disappointing. The trimmer blade immediately cut into the plastic on the sides of the track. I requested a replacement and Tonic responded immediately. However, the same thing happened with the second one. Also, the cut blade was loose in the packaging when it arrived so the blade had already marked up the trimmer body. This one needs to go back to the drawing board.

I was super excited to purchase this Tim Holtz Precision Paper Trimmer but after I got it I started noticing the paper was not being cut straight. After some frustration I started to notice the plastic was being cut in one section of the cutting board. I reached out to Tonic and after some back and forth they did say that some of the trimmers had that defect and sent me a new one free of charge/shipping. I was super excited and was very happy with the customer service and appreciated them sending me another one. But, after receiving the new one, the same thing has already started and at this point I don’t want to but any more energy into trying to get one that works properly. I was very disappointed bc I thought this was going to be the end all be all of trimmers.

Thanks to Tim Holtz for replacing the original trimmer that I bought. I assumed the issues I experienced with the original was addressed but I guess not. Shortly after using the trimmer the blade digs into the side of the grove and the plastic chips off into the grove. I have found that if I start my cut with the blade all the way to the top or the bottom I don't have issues but if I want to cut in the middle of the grove problems arise. This one needs to go back to the drawing board.

As long as you don’t press guide down yourself and you cut away from body it works great. I find that cutting towards body causes it to cut side of cutting groove. It cuts well and glides well.

I wasn't sure if I would really need this trimmer. I already have Tim's rotary trimmer and one of the small trimmers. This trimmer is great when you really need to place a cut line in a certain area. It's very easy to see where you are cutting. Also, if you want to start or end a cut in the middle of a sheet (like maybe cut just a certain corner out of a 12 X 12 patterned paper) you don't have to make wasteful cuts all the way across the paper. So I am really glad I got this precision trimmer.

I love this product. Cuts good and accurate. The extra details of the notches on the blade is helpful to get accurate cuts. I love how the pop up paper flap thing is lifted just enough to allow sheets to slide in and adjust. I feel like I can and rotate my paper easily and more quickly. Overall, very satisfied with this purchase

I like the grid lines & pre- measured indents. Ensure you get extra blades if you do a lot of cutting. It comes with one extra.

cuts are accurate, clean, and smooth. I would prefer if the scoring blade could live in a spot on the trimmer beyond the 12 inch mark. It's in the way when cutting a full 12 inch sheet so I took it off.

I love this cutter, so precise and the best thing is you can just slide your paper under the lever without lifting it up.

This is my 2nd cutter, a warranty replacement. I love the way it cuts, but just like the first the plastic in the cutting groove is starting to crack.

I had problems with the one I bought, and Tonic quickly replaced it! And this one works great! Thanks for being a great company that stands behind your products!

Perfect straight cut every time.

Very persnickety. Must press down. Must apply slight pressure to the right. Mine rubs at the center where the black measure is. The slot clogs and it is difficult to clean. But when it works it does a good job. .

I love that this cutter replaces two tools! It’s sturdy and easy to use. It scores beautifully and cuts accurately. I didn’t give it five stars because I think it could cut without quite so much shredding. The cut edges are not as smooth as I’d like. Overall I recommend!

I've been a paper crafter for over 30 years and have tried a lot of different trimmers. This trimmer works well but I have found the blade cuts into the sides of the blade track. I've only had it a couple of weeks and the blade track is already nicked in several places. I'm really disappointed as otherwise this trimmer cuts very nicely.

I rushed bought this trimmer because I saw it can score and cut plus handle 12.5 paper. Well the scorer and blade are on the same track so you can only score or cut up to a point, not the whole sheet! The scorer barely scores. I want to return this. I’m so very disappointed in this product. The scorer and blade should not be on the same track.

Love the TH Precision Trimmer.

Trimmer works great. My only suggestions would be to make it easier to put blades in and out, and also have some kind of mechanism to lock it when not in use.

I love have my most used dimensions already marked on the cutting bed. So handy! Quickly becoming my favorite tool.

Today, I finally received my Tim Holtz Precision Trimmer and couldn’t wait to start using it. Paper cutting was no problem for any of the papers I use until… I started scoring the papers. The main reason I purchased the Trimmer was for the easy way it could score large sheets of paper etc. I’m a junk journaler and create the journal covers out of cereal/pizza boxes ( thin cardboards). When trying to score the cereal boxes to create the spine for the journals, it hardly left a noticeable scoring line! After inspecting the blade I noticed that the blade is too short to score properly unless it is very thin paper. I’m so disappointed. Could you please bring out a scoring blade that is more suitable for creating junk journals. Thank you.

I have had almost every trimmer on the market over the years, always searching for the best one. This is hands down my favorite trimmer of all time! They thought of every detail when designing this trimmer. I highly recommend!
