Meet The Bloggers
I live in Northern Ireland with my husband and 2 sons and have been crafting in some form all my life. My many interests include drawing, gardening, interior design, cardmaking and papercrafting. I’ve been blogging for Tonic Studios for a few years now and have enjoyed sharing my ideas there with the blog followers.
I designed the Pick of the Bunch range for Tonic Studios – floral stamps, dies and the Punch and Stamp sets which have been so popular. I have several blogs (see below) and frequent a couple of other forums. You can also see my work regularly featured in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and Crafts Beautiful magazine.
When I’m not at home designing or creating you will find me out and about demonstrating how to use Tonic Studios products. I really enjoy all the great feedback I get, especially when I’m out and about demonstrating – crafters really are lovely folk :) I’m also on the Design Team for Papermill Direct and love to combine their card with Tonic Studios products – a great duo! There is plenty more in the pipeline so it’s an exciting time! Ruth x
Hi I’m Doda, I am a children’s poet, songwriter, ukulele player, doodler and crafter. I come from a very creative family and have been crafting since I was little. Looking at my little 7 year old daughter now and seeing the joy she gets from paper, scissors and sticky tape, I think she’ll be headed the same way – she already loves to use my Tonic tools.
I’ve been blogging here at Blog Tonic since January 2011 and I am loving the way that Tonic Studios is going from strength to strength.
I like to squeeze all the juice out of my Tonic Studios products and you’ll often see that I don’t just use them for paper-crafting but enjoy using them in sewing projects, making jewellery and anything else I can dream up. xx Doda xx
Hello, I’m Andrea although I’m known in the crafting community by my nickname, Dips, and write a crafting blog called (unoriginally) DipsDesigns. When I was younger, I wasn’t very good at Art at school, but through my love of crafting, I’ve come to realise that I am creative and just needed to find the right creative outlet for me! My main passions are paper crafting (cards and scrapbooks), baking and sugarcraft (yum!). I particularly enjoy making embellishments from scratch, especially hat-pins (you’ll find those pearly lovelies on almost all my cards), ribbon trims and flowers. I seem to have grown into my own style, as my crafting friends say that they can spot one of my makes a mile off. One of the things I love most about crafting is my fellow crafters, crafters are always so generous to share their ideas and inspiration, and I love to see what everyone has made with their Tonic products. xx Dips xx
I have been a crafter all my life, my favourite toys as a child were my colouring pens and paper. In my teens I knitted my own jumpers. I’ve tried many crafts over the years, too many to list. I started paper crafting about 12 years ago and haven’t looked back.
I love all types of paper crafting but love to add the small details to finish the card – The eye is in the detail as they say. I’m always looking for something different, so joining Tonic is the perfect opportunity with so many different things to try. I have been working full time for Tonic since Christmas 2014 and
I`ve been married to Alan for 25 years and have a 20 year old son James.
Hugs, Alison xx
My name is Jodie Johnson I’m 39 years old, a wife and mother of two wonderful children. My career started when I first trained as a Chef and later front of house in 4 and 5 star hotels.
How does this apply to crafting? Well, all my crafting skills are to do with moulding and shaping. Whether it be sugar paste for flowers, fancy folded napkins or card and paper; it is all really the same. I’ve always been ‘crafty’ in one way or another, sewing at home e.g. curtains, soft furnishing etc. I started to really paper craft about 10 years ago for a hobby.
I started hand sewing my Christmas cards but soon realised I needed a faster way, hence paper craft. Things soon dropped into place when I started mixing the sewing and paper crafts selling them at Craft Fairs and Farmer Markets; you could say been there and ‘got the tee shirt’, producing x amount of hand made products and selling them like most of our crafters do. I found some petal pair punches one day in a local craft shop and the love affair with Tonic studios soon began.
My skills from long ago came back to the surface moulding and shaping as I went. The Tonic products are so robust (me been no wall flower) it was a match made in heaven and have never looked back since. Tonic products allow me to create the most beautiful 3D design work, whether it be a centre piece on a table or a simple greeting card, the choice is endless.
I will be sharing some of my tips that will help you get the most out of your Tonic product.
